Trivia • The digit sum of each year is always 9 (e. 1+4+0+4 = 9). I found my old Anno 1602 CD-rom in a box, so I've started playing it again.

It's still great fun and I have almost completed the first campaign. It occasionally crashed, so after searching online I read that it could help to run the.exe file as an administrator. However after doing that all my savegames where gone ingame and the map C: Program Files (x86) ANNO 1602 Gold-Edition SAVEGAME is also empty.

But if I start the game in non-administrator mode all my savegames are back again, but still no files in the SAVEGAME folder. Is Anno saving the files somewhere in a temporary folder? What is the file extension for the savegame-files in anno? I would really appreciate your help!

So today I was going to continue my Monumental saved game tonight but when entering the load game section I found that the file has gone along with a few other saves I had. Now I know I played and saved it last night and that I didn't hit delete by mistake, I havent deleted the physical files from the HDD and I'll admit I don't even know where they get stored. I've made no changes to my PC or my HDD's, I've not done any cleaning or deleted anything for about a month now. To make it all a little bit weirder the auto saves have reverted back a day or 2.

So has anyone else seen or heard of this happening? From Steam Discussions about Assassin’s Creed Unity (it can refer to all Uplay DRM game swith Uplay Cloud support and also other Uplay games maybe): Turbid TG1: 'Can't synchronize my cloud saves. I was in Sequence 6 and now I might have lost all of my progress.' Pyradius: 'That sucks, I had to turn off the cloud syncing myself earlier and had lost progress, losing 6 sequences would suck pretty badly. Here was the info I got from Ubisoft: 'The cloud servers check file information when syncing and will update to the latest used profile. This information is synced to the cloud upon closing your game. Unfortunately, there is no way to manually download a savegame file from the servers.

Unfortunately, if your save file is not available in-game, there is no way to recover the data. I recommend that you disable the cloud sync feature via the Uplay Client options to prevent any future issues. I also recommend that you use a third-party game save manager such as GameSave Manager in case the issue reoccurs: We have forwarded similar instances up to our development teams for further review, and I apologize for any inconvenience.'
